The Cushing Nerve Hook is a blunt-ended instrument that is optimized for neurosurgical manipulations. It consists of a long handle and a slender shaft that turns with a 90o angle, to end with a button-ended tip. This blunt end ensures the atraumatic retraction of nerves and other delicate tissues during different surgeries. This includes the retraction of the ilioinguinal nerve in hernia surgery, the lingual and hypoglossal nerves in submandibular surgeries, and the facial nerve in parotidectomy. We manufacture the Cushing Nerve Hook from premium quality stainless steel. It can be sterilized easily for re-use, and is designed to provide the finest assistance in your surgical procedures.

The retractor enables the surgeon to either actively separate the edges of a surgical
incision or wound, or to hold back underlying organs and tissues, so that body parts
under the incision may be accessed. Surtex instruments carry the most versatile
range of retractors on the market.
Our range includes hand-held, self-retaining, table and chest mounted types for use in
a range of delicate cardio vascular, ENT and general surgical procedures.
Our retractors have an ergonomic feel with specially designed teeth and blades to
ensure a non-traumatic grip on sensitive tissue.
